He/him/his
Jasper graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in writing in 2017. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in social work at the University of Maryland Baltimore. This is his second year at DIY Wellness, where he works with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent populations as well as the kink and ethical non-monogamous/polyamorous community. Additionally, Jasper is trained as NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group Facilitator. In these peer-to-peer support groups, he enjoyed engaging in collaborative and empathic group work around various mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, C-PTSD, borderline personality disorder, and schizoaffective disorder.
Jasper is trained in Phase 1 Brainspotting, an offshoot of EMDR which harnesses relational attunement, the visual field, and bilateral stimulation to engage in a deeper level of trauma healing. He also incorporates elements of narrative therapy, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and motivational interviewing from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, holistic, and humanistic perspective. Essentially, Jasper believes that revolutionary healing starts from the body and extends outward into our collective community. He recognizes that everyone has an innate ability to mend, people are the experts in their own narrative, and that collaboration is a necessary ingredient for personal, relational, communal, and societal change.
In his personal life, Jasper loves reading, writing, drawing, dancing, and playing board games.
